“You and your guest are invited to Parisienne Masquerade to celebrate the launch of the new fragrance for women. ‘Stylish Attire and Mask
Required.’” The ads for the perfume features Kate Moss, but as 'racy' as they are supposed to be, I can't say they made me think it would be a fragrance I'd like to pick up and try. So what to do when you have a pretty dull ad? Throw a party on the LES with socialites, fashionistas, and all those living the fabulous life to a sexy masquerade ball that is bound to be the talk of NYC! I'm on a search for a new winter fragrance, and maybe I'll check this out. Will you?

Sex and the City 2 is filming again on the streets of New York and it looks like Carrie is having an affair with Louboutin! I guess Manolos are soooo made for tv, not the big screen. Patricia Field, the stylist for SATC has gotting me holding my breath with anticipation to see what Carrie is going to be wearing this time around. I'm loving the Halston Heritage dress and chanel clutch, but those Pigalle pumps are going on a Saks payment plan, ASAP! By the way, does anyone else notice Carrie is not wearing her wedding ring? Hmmmm.

OK, so it's really for the Italian couture supplement, but this is still hot! Although this has nothing to do with Rihanna, but am Ithe only one who actually misses models gracing the covers of magazines? Actresses and singers are the face of very thing from clothing lines, perfumes, to beauty ads. Do models even work anymore? Guess they are still sitting in bed until things are back to paying them more than $10,000 a day!

LOS ANGELES, CA - AUGUST 22: Actress Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Jenna Dewan arrive at the CW & AT&T's "Melrose Place" premiere party on Melrose Place on...
Beautiful CW starlets like Katie Cassidy, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Stephanie Jacobsen were stepping out in style at the Melrose Place premiere hosted by AT&T last night. The girls looked great and I’m anxiously standing by to check out the new series and see if Melrose Place can stand its ground against fashion focused shows on the network like Gossip Girl. I have to admit I’m one of those twenty-something girls that watches the high school group just to see what they are wearing.
There have been very few shows since SATC that have put fashion at the for front. Pay attention to whatever show you are watching these days and notice if you ever get a full head to toe pan of the female lead that focus on the whole look, from top to stiletto. Most shows never pan all the way to the shoe, but fashion conscious directors pan the whole character because they know they are also selling a ‘look.’ I’m hoping there will be just as much focus spent on fashion as Gossip Girl because Los Angles needs an outlet to let it’s fashion and designers shine bright!

LOS ANGELES, CA - AUGUST 22: (L-R) Actresses Katie Cassidy, Laura Leighton, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, Stephanie Jacobsen and Jessica Lucas arrive at the CW...
Melrose Place starts on the CW on Monday, September 8th!
Check in with me on the 9th because I’m sure it will be worth dishing on what they were wearing! For a break-down on everything they are wearing to the premere, check out Red Carpet Fashion Awards!

After a battle with cancer, Naomi Sims, the first black supermodel, passed away at only 61. She actually struggled to get a modeling agency when she first started out because she was told there was no work for African-American models. After covering the Times Sunday magazine, Wilhelmina Cooper, who was just starting an agency, picked her up after sending out the Times layout to 100 different advertising agencies with overwhelming response.
According to Essence magazine, "Never had a model so dark-skinned received so much exposure, praise, and professional prestige." Sims was not only a beautiful model, but she was also a savvy business woman who later gave up modeling to start her own wig business. She was dissatisfied with the wigs available at the time because they were made of silky fibers that looked nothing like black hair. She actually started the business after experiementing in her own kitchen! "I got hold of a current best-selling fiber for white women, wet the fiber down, put it in oven at a very low temperature, and baked it for maybe five or ten minutes," she explained in Black Enterprise. The end product was curlier, coarser fiber and a new company which sales reached $5 million in the firs year. She continued to build her brand in the 1980s by launching her own perfume and a line of prestige cosmetics.
These days, almost everybody wants to be a star, but if you can be satisfied with just being in the background in the most fashion forward movie shot this year then head down to the Metropolitan Paviliion tomorrow! The producers behind the sexiest old chicks on the block (plus Miranda) are looking for “international types (Middle Eastern, Arabic, Asian, European, British), professional soccer players, fashion models, urban club goers, gays and lesbians, celebrity types, upscale socialites.”
Sex and the City 2 background audition: August 4th
Metropolitan Pavilion
125 W. 18th St.
SAG members 10—12:30
Non-union applicants 1:30—4
Psssst: If the long line has you down, before you walk out, walk over to the Alaxander McQueen sample sale going on in the building from 9am-7pm. Take 80 percent off menswear, womenswear, shoes, bags, and accessories from spring/summer 2009 and past seasons.

Express Celebrates TXT L8TR Campaign - Arrivals
How many times are you behind the wheel and texting per day? If your like me, you do it more often than you care to admit. I'd blog behind the wheel if I could. Last night in West Hollywood, Ciara and Joe Zee, the creative director of Elle hosted a night at Nobu in conjunction with Express to celebrate the TXL L8TR campaign for all of us who text and drive. "Hit the Road, TXT L8TR" is a partnership between Express and RADD (Recording artists, Actors, and Athletes against Drunk Driving) to create awareness amongst the millions of teens and young adults on the dangers of texting while driving. The atmosphere was a trendy mix from socialites like the Hilton sisters, big screen stars you don't really recognize off screen like the Twilight kids, and Hollywood hotties like Gabby Union. Ciara looked like she ran the show last night in a beautiful Marchesa number. Honestly, I don't even think this picture does it justice, but it was the perfect color for her skin tone and it was a great style choice for this new chic look of hers. XOXO, The Haute Chick
