Get ready for Ports 1961! The Canadian sportswear label, headed by Tia Cibani, will debut its Fall 2010 Collection on February 11^th at Bryant Park.  According to Cibani, “The collection is inspired by the relationship between discovery and invention”.  Known for its classic, structured pieces with a romantic and often ethnic twist, we can’t wait!  Famous clients include Olivia Palermo, Nikki Hilton, and Sienna Miller.  More details to come after the show.

Designer and Creative Director Raul Melgoza’s showing of Luca Luca Fall 2010 Collection will take place this Sunday, February 14^th at The Promenade Bryant Park. The Criminally Chic received a sketch from the collection, along with the inspiration.  According to Melgoza, architecture played a major role in this season’s collection. “Architecture was a huge inspiration to me for this upcoming season”, said Melgoza, “I tried to play off of polar opposites, juxtaposing opposing elements-- matte and shiny, structure and fluidity, masculine and feminine, sharp angles and soft curves”.  It's well established ladies love Luca Luca.  Clients include Venus and Serena Williams, Kim Cattrall, and Tinsley Mortimer.

 Naomi Campbell's charity fashion show is returning this month during Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week on February 12th 7PM.   The spectacular charity show will be held in aid of CARE to raise money in rebuilding Haiti’s healthcare for women and children. The runway show will be hosted by Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York and will feature internationally recognized designers, celebrities and VIPs. Fashion For Relief™ began in 2005 during Mercedes- Benz Fashion Week in New York Cityin an effort to encourage the fashion community and its generosity in times of need. The show raised $1 million for the Hurricane Katrina relief. Last year Fashion For Relief™ was presented during Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai, India and raised funds after the 26/11 bombings.

Past participants and supporters include: Beyonce, Boy George, Claudia Schiffer, Faye Dunaway, Iman, Jessica Stam, Kate Moss, P. Diddy, and Tyson Beckford.

Known for their bold, geometric prints we cannot wait to see what to what designer Custo Dalmau of Custo Barcelona has up his sleeves for Fall 2010!  The Criminally Chic received a few sketches from their design house to get an idea of the collection, and its inspiration.  The inspiration came from the extreme beauty and attraction of jewels. Gems and precious stones serve as the basis for the production.  We can expect to see graphics in a dreamlike session filled with images like jewels, perfume bottles, butterflies and feathers. The color palette includes black and pink diamonds, sapphires, emeralds and amethysts.

Next on board for Custo Barcelona is expanding Custo Growing, a children’s line for girls and boys ranging in age from 4-14.  An added bonus for parents? All garments are machine wash friendly, including footwear and environmentally friendly leather coats.

2010 may become Beyonce’s best year ever.  After walking away with six Grammy Awards on Sunday the superstar wowed us again by launching a new fragrance titled, Heat.  On Wednesday Beyonce’ made an appearance at Macys Herald Square to promote her new scent.  A reported 500 screaming customers, had the opportunity of taking a photo with Ms. Knowles, A.K.A. Mrs. Carter, after purchasing the $122 fragrance set.   On Tuesday night select journalists, including The Criminally Chic, were treated to a sneak preview of the fragrance, and escorted to a party upstairs.  Attendees included, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, Usher, former Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams, and Macy’s president and chief executive officer Terry Lundgren.  Guests sipped champagne cocktails and danced the night away as Beyonce’s sister Solange Knowles spun classic Prince and The Cure.  The fragrance’s top notes include red vanilla orchid, magnolia, and blush peach. At its heart, almond macaroon, honeysuckle nectar, and crème de musk combine to create a sensual experience. Lastly, the base notes of giant sequoia milkwood, tonka bean and amber linger to seduce the senses.  Beyonce’ Heat is available in the US, Canada and Latin America and will debut in Europe, The Middle East and Australia in August 2010.
