I started this journey a few years ago when I first moved from NYC to LA as a NYFW obsessed 20 something and now at 30 I'm still as fashion obsessed as ever, but ready to start the next part of my Los Angeles journey as a MOMMY! A fashion forward mom of course though!
I''m due this September around fashion week which is soooo fitting, but it also means this will be the first September I'm not in NYC to cover fashion week since 2003! Talk about changes! Hope to se you soon as the new site 9021Oh Baby launches this fashion week.
The Spring 2012 muse is contemporary, fresh, and ethereal. The collection emphasizes cut and color with unexpected cut-outs in silhouettes. Shades of oyster are highlighted by bold citrus colors of lemon, lime and tangerine. Cropped slouchy embellished sweaters, long skirts and voluminous outerwear in technical fabrics add edge, while apron back dresses mixed with bone colored snake leather bibs inject a paired down cool attitude. Rebecca Taylor will present her collection this Friday at Lincoln Center.
Tracy Reese will be debuting her Spring 2012 on Sunday but we were dying to know what's in store before the first look hits the runway!
For Spring 2012, the designer Tracy Reese is inspired by a land of pure delight. Softly voluminous styles paired with lean, refined silhouettes, evolving proportions with a focus on modern fluidity. There will be subtle hues of khaki and blush, mixed with pastel shades of waterfall. Misty blue and aqua tears gradually intensify to deep saturated tones, with neon brights making a bold splash for the transition into summer. Reese describes the sketch shown here as, "A drapey culotte jumpsuit in waterfall, complimented with drawstring waist, and seductive neckline details, paired with a lemon zest hat and printed platform sandals to embody the relaxed mood of the season." In a word: Beautiful! Stay tuned for images after the runway show.
“We try to create a universe based on sensations, mixing colors, graphics and materials, exploring the smallest details to the maximum.” – Custo Dalmau
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is a week away and we’re already excited about the various shows we will be attending; including Custo Barcelona‘s Spring 2012 collection. Above find a exclusive sneak peek at the Gabonga collection. GABONGA is a word coined to describe something new: a collection beginning with graphic fabrics and flowing garments, and ending with more body-conscious pieces that enhance the figure; with superimposed and contrasting lengths to highlight femininity. The final product is a corporeal look, which experiments with spatial volumes.
More on the new collection:
The body-con garments primarily include very tight graphic patchwork dresses – one of Custo Barcelona’s most distinctive designs. This part of the collection also includes shorts and trousers with chain-mail embellishments, matched with cropped bomber jackets and masculine waistcoats, over semi-transparent chain-mail openwork shirts.
Lastly, the collection will feature new items such as trench coats and swimwear – all of them in typical Custo graphics. The former are made of printed nylon, while the latter are designed with small kaleidoscopic elements and patches.
The colour palette is fresh and bright; it explores new horizons. Colours range from apple green, orangey-pink, beige, nude and coral pink, to aquamarine and tropical khaki. Metal tones with shiny Lurex are also displayed; and include yellow gold, copper, gunmetal, white gold and violet.
The fabrics are translucent and free-flowing – chiffon, silk sating, ultrafine nylon and dentelle, and prints adorned with metal studs. Metallic tricot takes on a fluid and smooth appearance. The oneiric graphic design combines different kinds of patchwork to create an illusion of collage that evokes images of imperfect beauty. These kaleidoscopic patchworks mix conflicting fabrics of different weights, textures and sheen, forming a unique and genuine Custo universe.
The GABONGA Collection will launch at the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week on September 11th at Lincoln Center.
I can't get enough of Adele right now and it looks like I'm not the only one!
Just Jared posted a few particularly classy quotes from Adele from the magazine:
* “I puke quite a lot before going on stage. Though never actually on stage. But then, I shit myself before everything … the bigger the freak-out, the more I enjoy the show!”
* “I’ve seen people where it rules their lives, who want to be thinner or have bigger boobs, and how it wears them down. And I don’t want that in my life. I have insecurities, of course, but I don’t hang out with anyone who points them out to me.”
* “I’ve always got on better with boys. Most of my friends are boys. Like, if I ever have children, I want five boys. Boys love their mothers whereas girls can be so mean to each other.”
It’s always a delight to see fashion collaborations- proving once again that you do not have to pay a fortune to own a designer label. This is why I love Target: the industry leader in designer collaborations. This month, Target is partnering with Missoni, the fashion label known for their signature prints and patterns in the most luxurious Italian knits. The limited edition collection will include affordable finds for women, men, children as well as home ranging in price from $2.99-$599.99. I noticed a 5-piece espresso set that I may have to snag to serve Capriccio to my guests.
Missoni for Target will be available September 13th through October 22nd at all Target stores, and target.com.

Barf. I've been on a diet and if I was down with throwing up after I ate.....all I would have to do would be turn on Kim Kardashian‘s video for “Jam (Turn It Up)”. You remember that horrible song Kim did with The Dream that went POOF and disappeared when she realised we were not fooled and that YES it was AWFUL?
Well, she teased us with pics of the video that conjured up images of Lil Kim and Bo Derek, and then we never heard of it again. Well, it’s here via Vibe Vixen.
And it’s clear they tried to make it racy enough that you’d forget how bad the lyrics and vocals are. Sorry, but I can't stomach it even if she was in the nude....oh wait, she did that already for W. What are you thinking?
